Our Background

HA van der Laan Solar was originally established in 1969 by Hans Abel van der Laan in Gauteng, where numerous successful construction projects were completed on time and within budget. Ownership then changed hands when Mr. HA van der Laan retired in 1989 and his son Willem Geert van der Laan bought the building and construction company. In 1990 HA van der Laan & Co. (PTY) LTD re-established itself in KwaZulu Natal.

During more than five successful decades of operation, HA van der Laan has developed into one of KwaZulu Natalâ€™s leading construction companies. In recent years, the company has expanded with the addition of Leroy Abel van der Laan in KwaZulu Natal and Sjaak Joseph van der Laan in Gauteng.

To complement to our very successful construction service offering, we have added a diverse range of solar solutions to our portfolio, with the natural evolution of our business allowing us to specialise in this innovative sector.

Our company leadership team is headed by Director and CEO Willem G. van der Laan, a highly skilled and seasoned construction contracting professional with more than 40 years of experience.

He is supported by Leroy A. van der Laan in KwaZulu Natal and Sjaak J. van der Laan in Gauteng, with the two highly-qualified regional managers enjoying a combined experience of more than 25 years within the construction industry.
